SCHOLARSHIPS
Michael Powell started teaching with ARTree in 2013. He was able to teach in any medium and was well-known in Amp Up Your Art and in our evening Drawing class. Michael was gentle and patient in his approach to teaching, and students achieved their best work with his guidance. This scholarship is awarded in his memory.
Congratulations to Jennifer Clark and Maia Koss, recipients of the Michael Powell Memorial Scholarship. Awards were presented Jan 6, 2024 with Michael's wife Cheri, and recipients' families, in attendance.
Bob Hernandez is the founder and President Emeritus of ARTree Community Arts Center. This scholarship fund has been earmarked for new, art supplies awarded to the chosen students.
Bob is now retired, and enjoys painting every day. He hopes these kits encourage young artists to routinely practice their art at home.
Congratulations to Valentina Rivera and Maverick Harer, recipients of the Bob Hernandez Founders Scholarship. Awards were presented Nov. 9, 2024 with their families in attendance.

COMMUNITY ART PROJECT
Our latest community mural was completed on June 1st, 2024.
After a call out to save bottle caps, we collected over 8,000 of them to be repurposed for a landscape mural.
Members of the community were then invited to help construct the mural at the Old Town Newhall Library, where the finished piece hangs.
Ms Raux, ARTree Mixed Media Mastery teacher, headed up this project with assistance from Education Chair, Sheri Carlson.
